What the government needs to focus on is increasing the tax coverage in the country by imposing stricter rules and strategies against black transactions so that more people who flout on taxation rules can be brought under the tax system. For example, In many big markets around India, business owners have turned into mafias and insist on cash payments only and this costs the government thousands of crores (or even more) in taxes every year. This kind of burglary needs to stop and the tax coverage needs to be expanded to ease out on the individual tax burden.
